IT’S ABOUT CALORIES!!! 🔥

So many people obsess about distance when doing cardio, but intensity and calories burned should be the ultimate focus.

The next time you are on the treadmill, elliptical, stairmaster or bike...don’t fret so much about distance as much as intensity, unless you are a competitive athlete who needs to help run/bike/swim for distance and time.

Yes, I realize any exercise machine’s calculation for calories burned is going to be ridiculously general, but it still gives you an idea as to how hard you are working.

This picture was this morning when I did my post-weights cardio (today was Chest/Back for those who care). Speed: 3.8mph / 0 Incline / 4 min
Speed: 3.8 / 15 Incline / 4 min
Speed: 3.8 / 0 Incline / 4 min
Speed: 3.8 / 10 Incline / 4 min
Speed: 4.0 / 5 Incline / 4 min

I may have only gone just under 2 miles, but I worked my butt off with the incline variations! Try it out next time!

A voiceover video today on deadlift technique. Today was leg day and my workout was as followed
Cross trainer: 30 mins
6x3 min boxing rounds, followed by 30 secs kettlebell thrusts and 30 sets burpees
Deadlifts (40KG) 4 sets, 12 reps
Squats 40KG - 6 sets, 12 reps
Hamstring curls (40KG) 4 sets, 12 reps
Leg extension (60KG) 4 sets, 12 reps
Deadlift advice: Remember to keep legs shoulder width apart and to grip shoulder width apart, bend your knees, lift your chest and pull. Thank not to round your back or shrug your shoulders to enhance your progress. An excellent compound movement and a staple of my Monday workout

Looking for a challenge? You found it! Get those feet up on a chair or any other elevated surface and get to work! These pushups train the upper chest, triceps, and shoulders (depending on hand/elbow placement) 🙌🏻 They are a killer if done properly and are a personal favorite staple of mine in the upper body workouts I do 😁
A neat trick I like to do is set this exercise up in my compound sets and aim to hit 150 of them by the end of the workout 🕺🏻

A truly eye-catching set of arms has a pair of biceps that peak right in the middle. One of the best exercises to build those bicep peaks is the preacher curl. Help! I'm lucky to have been able to work with many expecting moms over the years, so I have experience in what you can and can't do in the gym while pregnant. Some things I've learned: 1. After the 2nd trimester, avoid lying flat on your back or twisting 2. It's okay to keep doing the exercises you are used to, as long as you are mindful not to push yourself to the brink of becoming out of breath 3. It's okay to lift weights as long as you don't feel strain or pain 4. Did a more intense version of the single arm cable chest press earlier, along with a new exercise I’ll share later on. 😜 Anyway, for the single arm press, pick a heavier weight to start, do 8 reps. Then switch to a weight 5-10 lbs lighter, do another 8 reps. Last, do another 8-10 reps using a lighter weight still. Do the same for your other side/arm. Total sets would be 5-7 per side, with minimal rest in between sets. Focus on making your chest do the work and doing full contractions, and don’t let your shoulders, biceps or even body lead the movement. 60lb KB Gorilla rows, finishing up a killer back workout this morning. Started out with some dead hang pull ups, there’s a lot of fancy new equipment and training methods out there, but that doesn’t mean you should neglect the basics ! There’s a reason NBA teams do layup lines before the game and baseball players take grounders and shag some fly balls. Proper form&Lighter weights>Heavy weights&crappy form always !!!!!!! WORKOUT TIP:
REMEMBER, It is not possible to isolate Upper, Middle or Lower chest by performing a specific exercise.Different exercises only place emphasis on some area of muscle (e.g. upper) while the whole chest continues to work as a single muscle.
So, at the end of workout, to achieve maximum blood flow to the muscle, incorporate Cable flys to help target different areas of muscle by using a variation in heights (low, medium and high).Moreover, use a moderate weight to form a smooth flow,  keeping the tension on the chest muscle instead of using momentum while repping the weights 💪

My progress is going forward well. Now I tried that first with 34kg and second with 16,5kg and third with 30kg and it worked well. For a month and half ago I used 20kg, 2kg and 12kg for these moves. 🙈🙊
✅first 5x, 8 replay
(both legs in the tube if you can hold the weight well enough so that the back does not go to the wrong position)
✅kickbacks 5x, 12 replay
One leg at a time + a little respite break
✅single leg bridge 2x 3 replay per foot
3x 4 reps per foot
1x 5 reps per foot
I felt lazy. For a final round I did more reps 😜😊 I was that äh it was enough.. and then I was like.. no.. fuck.. I'll do one more round and now for real 😂 but these bridges i did without brake below.

Getting strong | Top two

If you love training in the gym no doubt you will love seeing your strength going up.
-
Whether you want lose body fat, add muscle or focus on performance getting stronger will help your goals in my opinion.
-
It’s motivating to see your strength go up and achieve lifts you didn’t think were possible 6 months ago.
-
However if we are looking at two exercises where you should really judge your strength you can’t really argue with these two.
-
Bench press of course is another classic but if I had to name two these would be them.
-
They are such good movements and the reasons being that they have such a range of benefits.
-
The deadlift is a great exercise as it requires pretty much the whole body to stay tight and strong to lift a good weight with a particular focus on the posterior chain.
-
There is also no better feeling than pulling a good weight off the floor and people seem to forget that the deadlift is one of the few exercises that starts with the concentric movement rather than the eccentric.
-
This makes it a really great exercise to build that concentric strength without any stretch reflex or bounce out of an eccentric phase.
-
The squat is fantastic as it builds a strong core, glutes and quads and will really build a lot of tension.
-
It will also help with mobility when performed to good range of motion.
-
Also all athletes will benefit from squatting as it’s such a common movement and finally you really need to focus when in the bottom of a deep squat and requires that ability to fight through the reps rather than ditch it.

We live in a world where social media makes it extremely easy to compare ourselves to others. .
The problem with comparing yourself to someone else is, 99% of the time, you don’t know all of the other factors that are in play.

For example…
.
Disposable income affects whether or not a person can dedicate resources to personal training and eating organic.
.
Having free time affects things like getting 8 hours of sleep, being able to meal prep, and being able to workout longer and more often.
.
Age affects metabolism. It is more challenging for someone who is 50 to build muscle and burn fat than it is for a 20 year old. That’s out of your control.
.
Body type and genetics are also different for each and every one of us.
.
The point is, when you compare, often times you are comparing apples to oranges.
.
Your progress is your progress, no one else's.
.
If all you focus on is getting 1% better each day, instead of wasting time comparing your progress to everyone else’s highlight real on social media, you will get where you want to go a lot quicker. .
Stay focused on your journey, and don’t waste your time playing the comparison game. It will only slow you down.

We all judge what we are capable of.
✴️ Ex: we watch someone do splits, we automatically say I can't do that! Did you know there is a way you can?! We tend to not try because we think we can't do something! Our bodies are more capable than you think! ✴️Chances are you wont be able to jump right into a split?! .☑️however muscle memory let's you be able to work for it! What’s the difference between fast and slow rep tempos and when do use them?

Slow, steady, controlled reps are what I encourage most clients to do.
They increase the time your muscle is under tension, increasing blood flow, resulting in growth and developing more muscle.

Faster, explosive repetitions are great for recruiting white ‘fast twitch’ muscle fibre which is great if you’re trying to develop strength. They encourage maximal power to try and shift a heavy weight quickly (even if it doesn’t look like it’s moving very fast!). Adding a variety of both types into your training will keep your program interesting and encourage well rounded development.
