Need to share some awesome happy health news! ❤️ I’m off Blood Pressure Meds after 5 years!! Five years ago I was diagnosed with dangerously high blood pressure and have been on meds ever since, something I hated for many reasons; as I’ve always eaten healthily, exercised, taken supplements and been aware of genetic family risk and knew the side effects would affect me in time. I was vegetarian for 2 years in my late teens, but went back to meat. Over 18 months ago I gave up meat again and dairy, although the odd egg and piece of cheese has slipped through, but I’m doing my best for myself on my journey. I also still eat a little fish occasionally, but am working on that too. 🥕🍏🍌🍐🥦🍅🥒🍇🥑🍋🍉🥒🍓🥥🌶🥝
I don’t believe it’s just that, but it’s a HUGE part! I also eat mostly alkaline and anti-inflammatory foods and avoid foods I’m intolerant too, namely wheat, yeast and dairy.
Credit must also go to Yoga being back in my life in a huge way. I started when I was only 18, but once a week Yoga/Meditation classes and then practiced sporadically throughout my life until a year ago, when I returned full on and fell in love with it all over again, which lead to my completing my 200 Yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India in June this year. I returned feeling the most balanced and calm than I have ever felt in my life. 🧘♀️🙏💪⚖️💯❤️
I also believe in mental health therapy too, as when the stresses and anxieties of life take over, I use the brilliant techniques I learned with my excellent therapist.
To be able to come off pharmaceutical drugs is the most incredibly EMPOWERING thing and I am ecstatic about that! After being told that BP meds are for life, I am happy to prove that it doesn’t have to be that way! It just shows that it can be done!
