No one’s in a hurry here. It’s as if the only place they need to be is exactly where they are. I think we all ought to live a little more like that.

A whole lot of lupine and a whole lot of nostalgia.

Standing here, holding my body up against the gale-force winds, only worrying about where my two feet were planted and the sites my eyes were seeing.

This smile. This smile is my sun.
From a little day trip to chase the leaves.

I always say that fall and winter are my favorite seasons. Besides the crisp morning air and the changing of the leaves to the blanketing of snow, one of the things I love the most about this time of year is the desire to search for warmth, for light.
I think we ought to have the same mindset when it comes to people too. It’s easy to find warmth when someone’s radiating light like the brightest summer day. I feel as though it’s the people that look like winter, the ones that often feel cold to the touch, who have the warmest, most comforting hearts. It just takes a little effort, a little searching, to find it.

I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t be afraid of the coldness that this world brings sometimes. There’s always light inside, sometimes deep inside, but I know that it’s there. Find it.
