Mondays are for therapy, meetings and today? A massage. Healing is a daily habit. Can't wait to share life's next adventures with y'all. 🖤
Back to sunny day memories. My mood is 100% tied to the weather and #NYC trying to kill us all with grey skies in May. Considering May is #mentalhealthmonth, can our moods really be products of the weather? Consider sunlight has repeatedly been found to boost positive moods, dampen negative moods and diminish tiredness. Barometer pressure can also change with rain, triggering headaches (like me today.) And a lack of sunlight can just make ya feel sad. So what can we do? Accept how ya feel + remember it will probably pass, just like the rain. Call up people you love. Get moving if you can (indoor dance parties and/or sex work, too.) Mood light boxes are an option. Cook something delicious and nutrient dense (bc no sunlight = low seretonin = want carbs.) And if all else fails, plan a sunny trip you can look forward to.
So many plans, so little time. Or maybe it's not about time at all, but how you allocate your time and resources. Effort and intentionality over preconceived ideas around obligation. I always try to give the heart priority here as it's easier to get the mind to logically follow suit than it is to mend an achy heart.
