I had my homie @wyatt_stav on the podcast last week and it was one of the best conversations I’ve had in a while. I love Wyatt’s drive and his positive personality. This episode was over 2 hours long making it the longest podcast ever next to my show with @jaypostones . I’m so honored to have met Wyatt and am stoked for his journey! - More about the show 👇 - Wyatt is an up and coming Drummer who has made quite the platform for himself on YouTube and Patreon. Wyatt is chock full of expertise and one of the reasons I wanted to bring him on was to chat YouTube and my current infatuation with the platforms ability to be monetized. This is paramount for drummers of today’s as channels become more saturated and gigs start to dry up for the high paid guys. It’s now leaving a giant gap for drummers with the power to teach and entertain the guys like me who suck up hours of YT content daily!
You’re playing drums and all the sudden you fall into a trance like state and ideas just start flowing.. It’s like tapping into some kind of river where the flow just comes in like 2nd nature.. I’ve always felt this way when it comes to playing music and last week during my podcast with @dimitrifantini we talked about it heavily.
Did you know that the intro for the Drummers I Like Podcast was done by @anupsastry ?
When I started this podcast I had one thought in mind... interview all of my favorite metal drummers. 🥁
Since then I’ve gone down quite the rabbit hole with this show. From failed subscription services to failed product launches in which i invested all my money and time into. That also includes the loss of time with my Son and Wife.👪 I never got that time back but what I did get was experience. Understanding. Seeing the big picture of what I wanted to do with this channel and podcast was something that needed to happen and I feel like I’m ten steps ahead because of it.
My vision is clear 🙋🏼♀️👱🏻♀️👨🏻🦳 and I invite you on my journey.
If you’re wondering why I’m pushing YouTube, doing solo shows and changing up my format. I can tell you this.
My goal is provide value at all levels. 📈
SO... If you’re into long form interviews with some pretty sick drummers including Anup and others like @mattperiphery@global2dom and @brucebeckerdrums then check out the Drummers I Like podcast. I’ve recorded close to 300 shows at this point and have some amazing people coming on this year.
If you’re into video and want to learn more about some of the up and coming products hitting the markets then visit the YouTube link in the bio. I just finished up a review for the @drumeoofficial Best Beginner Drum Book and I have a lot more planned for release over the next few months. Here’s what you can expect. • The @yamahadrumsofficial Ead10 recording system • @kbrakes_usa kick drum stoppers (super sick for all us metal drummers) • @spinbal to showcase how these pups have reserved my @legadocymbals • @bigfatsnaredrum and how it applies to my style of playing and why most drummers should keep a stack laying around.
