When I married Bill, I got a reading partner for life. We just finished "A Gentleman in Moscow," which we read while celebrating our 25th anniversary. I realize we’re a bit behind on this one, but if you haven’t read it yet, we highly recommend it.
The day I chose the cover artwork for #MomentofLift. It's so exciting to see this book come to life, and I can't wait to share it with you. (Spoiler alert: I went with the turquoise – what do you think? 💙)
Instead of setting a New Year's resolution, I like to adopt a word of the year—one that encapsulates my wishes for the next 12 months. Last year, that word was "grace." I called on it in difficult moments and even wrote it on the mirror so it would stay on my mind. What word best describes your goals for 2019? Link in bio for more.
New Year’s Day 1994. We told you it was time to cut the cake. You thought that meant you needed to cut a slice for everyone and did some astonishingly quick math to calculate exactly how big each slice should be. This is the moment I realized what was happening—and also the moment you realized that cake had a cardboard middle and I had forgotten to mention it. I laughed so hard I couldn’t speak. I thought my heart was full that night, but the last 25 years have taught me just how full a heart can get. Happy anniversary, @thisisbillgates!
As 2018 comes to a close, I always appreciate the opportunity to pause and reflect on the year – to give thanks for the bright spots and find lessons in the challenges. Here are some of my favorite memories from this year.
One of the best parts of starting a family is introducing your children to the traditions you grew up with. Even after all these years, we still love wearing matching PJs on Christmas Day. From our family to yours – have a wonderful holiday season. #MerryChristmas#HappyHolidays
Today would have been the 112th birthday of Rear Admiral Grace Hopper – whose many achievements included the development of English-based programming languages. We remember her as a pioneer in computer science and an inspiration for #WomeninSTEM everywhere. Happy birthday, "Amazing Grace."
