The Cavalier's are sitting at the 26th spot for points allowed (109.6) . Even with their defensive woes, the Cavaliers managed to only lose by 10 to GS this month(warriors). Not to mention they held the lead,up until the 4th quarter, where GS outscored them 25- 17 in the fourth quarter . After a nightmare game against Okc, the Cavs lost by 24 points, allowing 148 points in total. As bad as that score sounds, the Cavs only lose this game(that bad), due to the absence of Kevin Love, who only played 3 minutes.
After the game, the Cavs held a meeting, debating if Kevin's illnes during the Okc game, was legitimate. Since the situation, the players just have not been on the same page with each other. If the Cavs are going to compete for a championship, for one they have to start trusting each other. The Cavs also need to invest in a paint protector, someone who can do the dirty work around the rim, be a pest on defense and finish simple buckets around the rim. Given the uncertainty of LeBron's future, the Cavs will struggle to land a big name, such as Deandre Jordan or Demarcus Cousins, without given up the Brooklyn pick. Teams will use the pick as leverage against the Cavs, so it's up to Cleveland to decide, if they should compete for the finals this year and land a big name, or worry about the future, and hold onto the pick. The Cavs sit at the 3rd spot in the Eastern conference. With Miami only being one game behind, the Cavs are in danger of slipping to the 4th seed. In my opinion, it is now or never. If I'm in the front office, I do not wait until the offseason is here to persuade LeBron to stay. If the Cavs want to remain dominant in the Eastern Conference, and keep LeBron's interest, they need to land a big name in Cleveland, a.s.a.p. (and worry about re-signing later) #speaksoles
