Did you know you can use #quinoa instead of oatmeal for a hearty protein-packed breakfast meal? We included a recipe for this in our Plant-Based on a Budget meal plans since it's super-cheap to make while also being insanely healthy (especially when you mix berries in there). Quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids, and it's great to use in place of rice in savory dishes. I was very skeptical at the idea of a sweet breakfast quinoa, but @ToniOkamoto turned me around! You can find our meal plans with this recipe and many more at: PlantBasedMealPlan.com (link in my profile). Or you can google "breakfast quinoa" online to see how it's done! If you love chili, give this unique recipe a try: worldofvegan.com/blissful-basil-vegan-chili/ (link in my profile). . This #vegan#chili#recipe gets its meatiness from walnuts and sun-dried tomatoes that have been pulsed into a crumble and sautéed with onions, peppers, tomatoes, beans, and an array of spices. A lengthy simmer time melds the flavors together, and then it’s time to serve. Spoon this chili into bowls, pile on the toppings, and serve with a hefty handful of tortilla chips for dipping! Recipe by @BlissfulBasil. Enjoy!

Tis' the season for #persimmons and kale! 🌲☃️ And so many other delicious fall and winter crops. 🍁❄️ Look out for: pomegranates, squash, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, apples, beets, and sweet potatoes. 🍠 Did you know that #kale is sweeter (or rather, less bitter) when grown in cooler weather? I just learned that. Anyway, take this chilly weather ❄️ as an opportunity to spend more time indoors cooking up creative, delicious, colorful, and nutritious meals! I, for one, will be making lots and lots of soups this season. 🍲 Here's one of my go-to #soup recipes if you want to join me: worldofvegan.com/vegan-instant-pot-soup/ (link in my profile). What could possibly be wrong with #wool? Sheep need haircuts, don't they? Sadly, the wool industry involves a lot of cruel practices. . The most notable is called "mulesing." You can Google that to see the heart-wrenching photos. It's a procedure in which farmers carve big chunks of skin and flesh from lambs’ behinds using tools resembling gardening shears, usually without painkillers. This is common practice in Australia, where the vast majority of the world's wool is produced, in a crude attempt to prevent a parasitic infection called “flystrike.” You see, sheep have been bred to have extra wrinkly skin so they'll produce more wool, but that makes them more susceptible to flystrike. The industry's solution? Just cut off their butts. It's horrific. . Shearing is also far from a spa-day haircut for sheep. Shearers are typically paid by the sheep, not by the hour, so they work as fast as possible sacrificing welfare of the animals. . When their wool production drops, sheep are typically sent to slaughter for meat. Millions are killed every year. This usually involves a looong journey in a cramped transport ship to countries with little-to-no legal protections for these animals. . There's no reason to continue supporting this industry when so many cruelty-free alternatives exist today. You'll prevent needless suffering by choosing vegan sweaters, socks, blankets, carpets, and beyond. -@MichelleCehn 👩🏼🌾. . #mulesing#sheep#lamb#yarn#uggs#sherpa#crochet#knitstagram#yarnlove#crafts#knittersofinstagram #farmanimals#knitting#crueltyfree#vegan#bekind#kindnessmatters#worldofvegan
Need some conscious gift ideas for the holidays? Here are my top 15 #vegan gift ideas that I think everyone will love: WorldofVegan.com/vegan-gift-ideas (link in profile). . Of course, don’t forget the best gift of all—time spent with your loved ones. You absolutely don’t need to give people gifts to show them you love them. You can invite them over for a home-cooked meal, write them a thoughtful card letting them know how much they mean to you, or just give them a big hug and tell them in person how grateful you are to have them in your life. . My hubby and I stopped giving each other tangible holiday gifts years ago. The holiday gift-giving season started to feel really excessive and wasteful to us, so we decided that we’d find new ways to spend time together instead. It doesn’t take long to discover that the best gifts don’t come wrapped in paper. . That all said, I know you’re here for actual vegan gift ideas that you can tie a ribbon around. So, here are some that I’ve found will actually be used, loved, and not discarded soon after they’re opened. Enjoy!! - Michelle 👩🏼🌾
