I’m a mother, a wife, a moment collector & a wildly ambitious dreamer 🖤 . I’ve always been a creative person. I’ve always loved the arts with intensity. At 10, most kids were putting together lemonade stands for $0.50 cups- while I was hand crafting greeting cards and designing American girl doll clothing (& always selling out). I was always an ambitious, self-taught child. My parents always told me the only limit I had was myself, & that if I wanted to be a fashion designer or a world traveling photographer; I was the only one who could tell me “yes or no”. I’ve always had a passion for entrepreneurialism; “like father like daughter”. My father was an entrepreneur- I grew up in a house of hustle. I watched as he problem solved, failed and succeeded & I knew very young that I would follow in his footsteps. . All these years later; now at 27, I’m traveling all over the country for my craft; telling love stories through my lens. . My true success has nothing to do with my career; but in what I see myself teaching my son. He’s also very creative & driven. He loves photography, traveling & adventuring. He’s always coming up with ideas, showing me his art work & his lego designs. I love that my career allows me to show my son what exactly it takes behind the scenes to make it all come together for a client. . You guys see the pretty pictures at the end, but the path that lead to that moment looks a lot more intense. From web development, targeted outreach/advertising, content curation, managing schedules, keeping up with the latest editing/ software/ programs, continuing my education in the world of gear, communication, running a business, accounting, and lead gen. It never stops & if anything gets more challenging each year. . There’s a lot I do “behind the scenes”, to get us to that final edit. I’m so overwhelmingly honored when you friends, support & trust me to tell your truth through my lens. It’s not only my business- but my calling & passion. When you invest in me; you’re counting on quality, friendship & a positively memorable experience ✨
S T O P your scroll & S W I P E these frames ☝🏻😍 ———————————— This directive movement is one of our (mine & clients) FAVORITE to do & capture 💃🏻✨ This particular “blind challenge” always gets everyone laughing, playing & relaxing. If I can tell clients are nervous- we dive right in to this exercise / ice breaker. . My sessions aren’t about “taking photos”; but creating memories. You’re investing into a rad experience, tons of laughter & an overall great time. We will most likely become good friends & plan out coffee dates on weekends 😬☕️🍩🤗
When they each go in for the same plant 🌿😬 #herRINGtho 💍🙌🏻✨ . Yes- that’s his hand on the left & her’s on the right 😉👋🏻 I had such a lovely afternoon documenting this stunningly energetic couple- we laughed, we celebrated, we climbed (or I climbed? 😂), & we laughed some more! - HOLY MOLY I was so embarrassed of myself for driving all the way to location & realizing I had forgot my camera batteries back at the house (charging) 😭🤣🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.... like seriously 🙃🤫 MOM BRAIN in FULL today y’all!! The WORST part was- I swear I checked my gear before I left 🤷🏻♀️😹👏🏻 #oneofTHOSEdays . Fortunately these two lovebirds were SUPER understanding & forgiving, let me drive back to get them- 12 min later we were A-GO 📸🙌🏻💯 (luckily I live super close to this particular location) 🤦🏻♀️😅 . Without any FURTHER delay; I edited their final reel immediately & delivered their edits just a few hours after we shot 👊🏻🙌🏻💃🏻 . Here’s the first preview to their grand surprise (which I won’t spoil!) ✨
Over the last year, I’ve gotten to know @paigecurtisss pretty well (after all; she is the QUEEN who makes my hair look bomb!) 💁🏻♀️✨ . I was BEYOND flattered/ honored/ & overwhelmingly excited, when she asked ME to document her & her financé’s love story 😍 . We drove just an hour outside of town (to a favorite little secret spot my hubby & I discovered a few months back)- hiked along a hidden trail & created some MAGIC in the 30 degree forest. . Are YOU just as excited as ME to see their “love story” video?! 😍❤️🙌🏻 YEAH- stay tuned; it’s coming soon 💃🏻🎉
“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it be rather a moving sea between the shores of your souls.” – Kahlil Gibran
F I V E Y E A R S 🖤 ————————————————— “I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now”. . Five years of marriage never felt so good. Loved our trip to the mountains last weekend, that cabin y’all-. Today looks a bit more ordinary. We woke up this morning; got our son ready for school, turned on our favorite Radiohead record & ate cereal. Yup. Just a typical Friday. I couldn’t have dreamed of anything better.
Based on an OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE response to my “story poll”, here’s a personal (& one of my favorite) photos from our trip to the Yosemite cabin! ——————— You guys- we were OBSESSED. This cabin was as cozy as it was perfectly located. We were right by some of our favorite Ahwahnee shops, and just 30 min from Yosemite parks main entrance. This was the perfect get-away “prescription” the doctor ordered 😂. But seriously; it’s been a ROUGH few weeks for our family. Between the holidays, work travels, & running our marketing company - it’s so easy to let the important things fade away to the back of your mind. It’s easy to “auto pilot” life when you’re so busy running around for work purposes. . In 2019 I’m stepping WAY back. I’ll still be taking family & lifestyle sessions; but I’m only going to be taking on about 50% of the 100% I took on in 2018. I’m going to be focusing on transitioning my clientele strictly for what my passions are- what I love to document the most, which are love stories (engagement, elopements & weddings). I really feel like 2018 flew by, and I feel all sorts of guilty for literally being booked out EVERY SINGLE weekend, and neglecting my own family for yours (which I was willing to do to grow my business, I’m very grateful for all of you guys!). However, I’ve gained a new perspective & I don’t want to live the same way for 2019. I’ll ONLY be booking weekends for wedding clients moving forward, and allowing 3 days a week (evenings only) only for any other non bridal sessions. I very much think this is a reasonable trade off, that way I don’t feel burnt out or overworked. I can really focus on each individual client, and be totally present. . This get-away was really to clear our minds, get our emotions in check & BOND with each other completely unplugged from the world. Although I kept you guys in the loop (via stories), we were not answering any emails/ phone calls/ texts/ DMS - nothing. It felt truly AMAZING. One weekend wasn’t enough to make up for the 50 weekends I missed out on last year, but it was a great start! . Thank you all for the support through this journey.
Something about d e t a i l s. ——————————————— Anniversary sessions are just an extension of your love story. It all starts with the proposal or engagement session, leading to your wedding day, then a year later we celebrate your first milestone with an anniversary session. We also offer one year “trash the dress” anniversary sessions. This is when bride & groom get back into their wedding outfits, pack a picnic filled with their wedding memories (first tier of cake you may have saved/ cupcakes or donuts recreated, along with your wedding Champaign + toasting glasses. Then we head into the woods to document your time together enjoying the elements, and wrap it up by either playing in the snow, getting into a lake, or just frolicking around the country side!
