I met Chardell last year in real life. She saw that I am not too far away from her home and she drove all the way to Bedford Hills to see and practice with me (she still drove almost 2 hours to see me ๐Ÿ™ˆ). So, when Chardell told me that she is going to host a challenge to raise awarness for this rare genetic condition her son Ben has to deal with I told her I am aboard. โค๏ธ

Did you know? Tree Pose is the first one to prepare the needed hip rotation in your hip joints to get into full lotus. A seemingly easy pose ... but it's a friggin hard pose to get a pic of so I went with an artsy fartsy crop. ๐Ÿคช

Marichi A is such great one to prep for Malasana variations. My collage shows some variations. If your hamstrings and your bind are not there yet put yourself on a throne (blanket and wrap your mat around it so that you don't glide off it) and bent that other leg a bit. That makes the tilt in your pelvis a bit easier. Use blocks to find your backbend in that forward fold.

I practice low lunge every. single. friggin. day. With a block under my thigh to have a boundary so I can go as deep as necessary but not too deep to compromise my hip joints. I like to add either eagle arms or grabbing the elbow to calm down my adrenals.โค๏ธ

Guess you already figured that I love the chair and of course my blocks to practice. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And of course I am showing some modifications with the chair again, hoping it inspires some of you to start with yoga "although you are not flexible enough" ... YET. Only a few weeks ago I posted a crane tutorial and how I learned to gain muscle memory for it. If you check (#) dreasyogatips you will find the post. I added the chart anyway ๐Ÿ˜

Seriously under pressure in catching up with all the challenges ... and still behind ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. I'm getting too old for this ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคฃ.

Upward Plank is a friggin tough pose for me and when I injured my left hip I couldn't bear any weight in a straight body line on that side (yes, not even standing up straight was possible) .. not to mention bringing that pelvis forward. I had to modify a lot and this is how I practiced and still practice this pose.

Slide 2 shows how to plug in with your 3rd foot to stabilise the triangle. I kinda expect ambiguous remarks ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Slide 3 the boat pose which is very unflattering to take a pic of. But I added a little vid (sped up 2x). Do remember Wet Noodle Day? Well, you can use that strap the same way for that boat ๐Ÿคฉ.

Geez, it took me TWO days to get a TeaPot. Two days!! Who has time for that? ๐Ÿ˜‚. And when I was about to give up (I had that shot already) I decided to get a vid and ... SMH ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ but see yourself ๐Ÿ˜…. First 3 hops are 3x sped up, the final hold is realtime.

Remember? I already showed the use of the blocks on our Plank Day. If you watched Nevine's vid for that day then you know that the blocks are not used to rest on them. They are used because many just go too deep in Four Limb Staff Pose. I like to call them door stopper. And like doorstopper prevent the glass in the door from crushing in a thousand pieces the blocks protect your shoulders, your lower back. They also show you where you put probably too much effort and where you don't.

After I got this tip from @lara.heimann (if you don't follow her yet just do it) I tried to relax my neck. I worked all day yesterday but I always lost balance and fell back to where I started. Today - although super short - I fell OUT for the first time. It's a difference if you can't hold up and fall back ORRRR if you are thunderstruck because you actually held that shit BAM. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Lara. Winter is so not the very best season for my #backbends and it was especially tough for me when I tried to get a decent camel yesterday.. Didn't happen at all so I thought it's nice to share this camel over a chair before I fall too far behind.

The Bo I used for triangle pose is nice to check in with your vertical line. I tried to find a nice hack for the extended side angle as well but couldn't come up with sth except for another chair variant. Since this is a bit much for one post I will share a vid another time.

This shape together with stag legs used to be the one I could find some noticable hang time. I just flung my legs behind me, hoping for the best until I found some balance. But I always fell out because of .. NO CORE. Last year I focused more on finding a straight line (I'm not saying that I found it) and exiting the way I entered. My vids today make me realise how much I relied on dumping into my back ๐Ÿ™ˆ. In a sense I am incredibly proud today that I could a) hold it and b) could hold it in a safe way.
