As genetically blessed as the @VictoriasSecret models may be, even those celestial beings didn’t quite wake up like this. Case in point: Portuguese model @SaraSampaio, who celebrates her fifth #VSFashionShow appearance this year, is here to prove that the right morning beauty routine, replete with pore-shrinking toners, luminous highlighters, and a lashes-for-days mascara, is everything. If the idea of wearing an apron triggers ’50s The Donna Reed Show flashbacks, fear not. There are legitimately chic apron options out there—tap the link in our bio for proof. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Vogue, September 2003.
Meet Erica–a Vogue model who has never had to deal with the traumas of high school. Erica, who was unveiled in August 2015 by the Japanese researcher Hiroshi Ishiguro, is not alive in the conventional sense, but she is certainly real, outdressing, outclassing, outsmarting us all. For Ishiguro, our robotic future won't be populated by Alexas or bots fetching boxes from warehouses, but by androids so realistic that they'll mingle among us. See Erica's full spread now in our December issue. Photographed by @mark_peckmezian , styled by @alex_jordan_harrington, Vogue, December 2017.
The 2016 presidential election was a wake-up call for @Pharrell, a caustic lesson in the limitations of preaching happiness to a nation that wanted its suffering acknowledged. Now a father of four, @Pharrell fears for his sons, especially, and when he contemplates a balm for the wounded world around him, there’s one word that comes to mind: inclusion. “Black is beautiful, and right now, we are going through it,” he says. Inclusion is also the theme of this photo shoot, whose ensemble cast was curated by @Pharrell himself. “I wanted to be surrounded by the culture, by all different walks of life of our culture, to get some light around me.” Tap the link in our bio to see the full spread.
