[May 1 Tea of the Day 1/3] Shui Jin Gui, a yancha (rock tea) from the Hu Xiao Yan (Roaring Tiger Rock) of the Wuyi Mountains. 2016 Spring. The Shui Jin Gui cultivar, which literally translates to "Water Golden Turtle", alludes to the legend that the cultivar was discovered after a disastrously heavy rain when a monk looked at the Shui Jin Gui tree from far away and thought he had seen a humongous turtle glistening in gold and green. Upon closer inspection, he realised that it was just tea. Trust legends to be anti-climatic like this one.
