-I started the month off with A Stranger in the House, and I’m so glad I did. I finished this baby in mere hours! I love a good suspense novel.
-Daughter of the Burning City didn’t live up to my expectations. I wanted to love it, and based on the blurb, I thought I would, but it was just okay to me.
-He Said/She Said is another suspense story, and I loved it! It was a slow build to the climax, but never boring. The end! The twist! Ahhh! A great story!
-Scythe surprised me so much. I kept putting it off, and I’m mad that I did. I truly enjoyed this unique story. Loved so many characters! I’m dying for book two.
-An Ember in the Ashes is another one that I expected more from. It’s weird, though, because I enjoyed reading it well enough, but I have several small complaints. I didn’t like Helene. I thought she was annoying. I didn’t like the weird love triangle/square situation. I wanted more time/chemistry from (what I’m assuming are) the two people who are supposed to be together by the end of this. More details in my review on Goodreads. I liked a lot too, though. So, I’m giving this <-that’s a half star. Haha.
-The Language of Thorns is the most beautiful book I’ve ever seen!! The cover (both with the jacket and without) is gorgeous! The artwork is phenomenal! And the stories were great too! I gave star breakdowns in my review on Goodreads for each story, but overall I’d give it . The last story might be my fave!
-I also read The Demon in the Wood (not pictured because it was a kindle book) but anything that has to do with the Darkling gets one million stars from me! Or in this case.
-This Savage Song was another unique story. A monster who doesn’t want to be, and a girl who wants to be feared. I loved August! What a sweetheart. I laughed at some of what Kate said and did, but felt she was definitely trying to be something she really wasn’t. I fear what’s gonna happen in the next book, which I still need to order!
