Overall, it was a good day for the Athletics. I think the short time between games is what affected Oakland in the second game. Franklin Barreto personally outscored Chicago in game 1. He hit 2, 3-run home runs to en route to an 11-2 victory. Sean Manaea is finally winning starts again. Oakland improved to 39-36.
Game 2, Oakland was able to jump out to a one nothing lead early, but were unable to keep the lead as Chicago scored 3 times in the bottom of the 2nd. Open manage to climb their way back into it in the 8th inning as they brought it to within one run. Tim Anderson took Petit deep unfortunately, giving Chicago a 2-run cushion. Oakland was unable to score in the top of the 9th inning. Oakland falls to 39-37.
