Mike (my co-PD) and I were asked in an interview:
Overall, how was the experience of being the head of production design inside the toughest shoot in Philippine cinema?
And this is my Miss Universe answer:
The shoot was as tough as it looked from what you've watched so far, maybe even tougher.
Aside from our usual main concerns like sets, props, costumes, make up, prosthetics, live gun props and their continuity, there were also rain, mud, waist-deep estero water, slippery rooftops, electrically grounded roofs, collapsible walls, breakable railings, and a hundred different weapons as props -- all inside the set we built. So our responsibility for safety was also very, very high. "BuyBust" was a great challenge for me personally, but a very welcome one. With every project I do, my goal is to learn something new. Here, I learned a whole lot.
I have to say that I have painstakingly overcame every challenge thrown at me -- with the help of these people -- the crazy creative PD beside me, and our art department team behind us. ---
I thank the universe for this great opportunity to work with great people and to grow and learn as a person and as a designer.
