It’s going to be an extremely busy day for me, so I won’t be able to do my tarot message today However, I did want to leave this quote for y’all from the late Bruce Lee, who I’ve admired and looked up to (along with many other fans out there) since I was a teenager.
This seemingly simple message is something we all struggle with, regardless if we’re aware of it or not. Recently, I’ve realized that I’ve tried to be the perfect “x, y, or z” to everyone so I could live up to their expectations, which, in return, would result in them living up to my perceived expectations of them. Not only is this not right, but it’s not realistic. Yes, it’s important to treat everyone with compassion, empathy, love, and respect, but there should be no expectations for either party. It just leads to hurt and disappointment, not because people are awful and you can’t trust them, but because of your own mistakes related to cultivating a false narrative for how others should respond or behave. Accept who each person is, for better or worse, and then choose your course of action as to how you will interact with them moving forward. As my husband always says, “You can’t be mad at a frog for being a frog. You can only control how you’ll engage with that frog, if you decide to engage at all.” Focus on your personal truth and who you are; when you do that, a weight will lift and everything will seemingly fall into place. Have a great weekend loves!
