Which one are you? I like to think I fall somewhere closer to the latter, especially when it comes to our funny little home. It’s a 1950s terraced bungalow (no beautiful Victorian London double fronted terrace or country pile here), but I love the simple lines and efficient use of space. It’s solid and simple, and I think we’re managing to put our stamp on it in a way that suits the age and style of the building itself.
Getting the aesthetics right in a space (or visiting somewhere where someone else has) can lift my whole mood, and seeing a well thought through interior brings me huge contentment.
BUT, I don’t think it needs to mean grand spaces and lots of money. A beautiful home can be created with simple lines, a lack of mess, a cohesive feel and a bit of an eye for detail. And probably a scented candle and bunch of flowers.
Where do you fall? How do you make your space beautiful to you?
