Get your popcorn ready! Game 1 is tonight at 7:31! Our road to redemption in the playoffs begins with a great matchup between Stephen Strasburg and Cubs’ starter Kyle Hendricks. Strasburg, as you might know, is coming off his third career pitcher of the month award and has a ridiculous 0.86 ERA in his last 10 starts. It’s time to do your thing, Stras! Interestingly, this will be just his second career postseason start after he was shut down in 2012 and suffered a late-season injury in 2016. You know he’s excited to be back! The Cubs, meanwhile, are sending Hendricks to the mound instead of Jon Lester, which could present a problem to the Nationals. Hendricks has not allowed more than three runs in a game since June 4, showing elite consistency all year. In five starts against the Nationals in the past three years, Hendricks has been effective, allowing 11 runs (nine earned), including five homers, in just over 30 innings. He’s got good control, but the Nationals should be able to get a few walks and some contact off him as they have in the past. Daniel Murphy, for instance, hit two homers off him in a 4-2 win last August in Chicago. This will certainly be a fun series to watch — hopefully it results in us moving on for the first time ever. So let’s show our #NATITUDE, wear RED, and ROOT for the Nationals tonight in DC! It’s time to #FlyTheCurlyW, folks! Get ready!
