"One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple." -Psalm 27:4
You think you know beautiful, but you don't. I don't. We have weak versions of beauty here. Not only that, but the standard is so subjective. If we could just free our mind and consequently our eyes, we'd see genuine beauty. It's all wrapped up in Him. Here's how beautiful He is:
Every part of His Heart, all of His desire and the totality of His Being is obsessed with you. There's nothing more beautiful than that. Nothing. Every day, His Beauty is true and constant while earthly beauty deteriorates daily.
I can point to the Cross and to His miracles, to His care and compassion in order to highlight His Beauty, but even His "no", His discipline, His judgement are beautiful. Have you ever read Matthew 5 or any passage that guides and warns and realized the intense beauty behind the words? He has given us all we need to escape a decaying world. Yes, it can be "harsh" but that's because our understanding of the looks of it are tainted by our human standard of beauty. I'm telling you, all of what He's doing, saying, directing, manifesting, and revealing is the beauty that your eyes seek.
One day, if we're faithful, we'll look at His Beauty forever, but even now, I pray we can see that He is altogether Beautiful.
