LOVE THE SKIN THAT YOU’RE IN...💛
For as long as I can remember I have always picked apart every flaw (in my eyes) on my body. My shoulders are too broad. My thighs are too thick. My arms are too big. My skin is too blemished. My hair is too thin. The list goes on and on.
It wasn’t until I started my health/fitness journey that I began to love myself and embrace all of the imperfections that I have. Not just because I was finally seeing results from starting to workout & eat better, but because this community introduced me to the importance of SELF LOVE more than anything🙌🏻🙌🏻 #thankgoodness
It showed me how to embrace all that I am. Flaws, imperfections, and all.
It proved to me how capable my body is & how I could challenge it more.
It taught me to read more self-help books about how to master my “inner mean girl” and pick myself apart less.
It showed me how to look myself in the mirror & affirm to myself that I was enough and beautiful both inside and out.
It taught me to embrace my body for where it was at & become more confident in it.
And some days, it’s still a work in progress. Some days I pick myself apart just like I used to— old habits creep back easy. But once this happens, I can catch myself & simply remind myself of these tools that have helped me to redirect my thoughts. I no longer let these feelings take over & consume me.
If you’re in the process of trying to change your body, to lose a few extra pounds, whatever it is, please know that you need to be content with what it is, right here right NOW. You need to LOVE your body for all that it is. You need to be GRATEFUL for all that it does for you. You need to appreciate & EMBRACE it for where it’s at. Because if you can’t be happy with yourself now, you won’t ever be happy with yourself ever. #justthehonesttruth
No matter how much the scale goes down.
No matter how many inches you lose.
It all starts from within.
Love yourself FIRST & use that as your fuel to want to better yourself.
To FEEL better.
To walk a little differently & a little more CONFIDENTLY.
I promise that will make all of the difference💛💛
