Here's my quick grades for picks 7-12. -
Bulls: Wendell Carter Jr: A+. The Bulls picked the perfect player for their team. Him and Lauri Markkanen will form a great duo in the front court. Kris Dunn's job will be easier with all this spacing. -
Cavs: Collin Sexton: B+. I like Sexton a lot. This is a good pick, but I was really surprised the Cavs didn't trade this pick for an established player. It seems like they're throwing in the towel on the LeBron sweepstakes.
Knicks: Kevin Knox: B-. Knox can be a good player but I'm not sure where he fits in New York. The Knicks need a playmaker to get the Unicorn the ball, and Knox brings not much but scoring. Who will hide Knox's defensive flaws? There have been worse picks, but his wasn't a great one. -
Suns: Mikal Bridges: B+. Good pick by the Suns, but I'm not sure where he fits. Do they move Booker to being the primary ball handler, and play Mikal, TJ Warren, and Josh Jackson at the 2-4? I guess you can't get enough 3 and D wings, so solid pick by the Suns.
Clippers: Shai-Gilgeuos Alexander: A-. The Clippers got their guy. They had to trade up a pick to get him, but they got their guy. He could even be the Clippers starting PG this year. -
Hornets: Miles Bridges: A-. Hornets get a good player here. He can replace Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as the defensive minded wing man, or even start at the 4. He should get solid NBA minutes year 1.
