The last couple of weeks exploring unknown & re-exploring known-to-me London with my dad and step mom who were visiting from Canada made me fall in love with the city again. However, it also made me more homesick and I realized I’ve been gone for so long that I now only get to see my family and friends back home, if I’m lucky, once a year, often less. I am very close with my family and those seldom short visits aren’t really enough.
I’ve also realized that I don’t know my own city anymore and I’m afraid whether I’ll still like it or not, as it’s gone through drastic changes over the last few years. I think for my own personal growth and development though, that I’ll have to move home, eventually, but both London and Vancouver are crazy expensive cities that nurses can’t really get that far ahead in, especially if I plant to carry out some of my dreams, all which require some ££$$, so perhaps I’ll have to go somewhere new again?! It’s all very confusing and I seem to be permanently on the fence about where I should settle.... do any other expats have trouble with these decisions or have conflicting thoughts about where to settle, fear of returning home, etc? _________________________________________________________ #london #canadian #england #canada #canadianinlondon #expat #livingabroad #londonlife #londoner #vancouverite #vancouver #thecityoflondon #londonwanderings #bankside #southbank #thethames #thames #londonphotography #photography #photooftheday #photographer #blog #wanderlust #blogger #londonguide
