But I'm also really into quick meals, where I don't make much of a mess (yep I'm a neat freak) 😁and food I can feel good about eating. When it comes to tuna fish, I'm picky. Mercury levels in tuna is a major concern, especially for pregnant women 🀰🏻When I choose a product, and support it, I personally have to be fond of its ingredients, flavor and health benefits🌿 I happen to love πŸ’— tuna on salad in the warmer temperature months, and I'm so glad I finally found @safecatchfoods. This is not your usual weight loss comparison. This is a different kind of #transformationthursday .

About 2 years ago I suffered from sciatica. I couldn’t sit without hurting, stand up on my own, i couldn’t drive, and could barely walk for a good portion as well. I got put on disability and was out of work. It had to have been one the most demoralizing experiences I went through. I felt helpless.
▫️▫️▫️
As someone who has been independent for most of their life, it was mentally demeaning waking up to the reality that I was going to be in excruciating pain the moment I even thought about moving. And i was optimistic at first but I remember one morning in particular, struggling to get up, using the couch (because i slept on the floor) a shoe, the coffee table, anything I could find. I surprisingly was successful. As I proudly made my way to the bathroom, I slowly began to sit down right before i suddenly collapsed with a shooting pain that pierced from my lower back down all the way to my foot, and I broke down for the first time in a long time.
▫️▫️▫️
I look back on that day often. It’s one of the days that shaped me to be as strong as I am now. I was extremely humbled and found a new gratitude for the simple things in life. Since then I made it a mission to take my fitness to the next level and my quality of life more seriously. I was forced to set my ego aside and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made since then. I can confidently say it paved the path to my personal training journey. .

I share this because I want to empower you to keep pushing if you’re down. I want to inspire you to not take for granted the fact that you can walk and workout. I want to bring to light that we all won’t be young forever and every decision we make today is going to affect our future selves. Make today the day. There’s never a right time. The right time is a fictional concept that allows us to feel better about the fact that we don’t want to take that leap. It’s scary, I know it is, but it’s worth it. YOU ARE WORTH IT. ▫️▫️▫️

Being positive and being motivated are two separate things. πŸ¦‹
I’m sure you guys see my IG stories and posts are filled with the most genuine positivity I have. But I’m not going to lie to you guys, this week for me has been really rough fitness wise. .

Though I stay positive my body has been feeling the repercussions from all the indulging I did this weekend. I don’t regret anything, don’t get me wrong, but hopping back into my routine has been rough. My gym sessions haven’t been what I wanted them to be and my motivation has been non existent! I’m tired, my focus is suffering, and I will admit right now I have hot cheetos twice this week!!

I wanted to share not to complain but to show you that I’m human and that I have bad days too, shoot bad week, actually. But I refuse to let that filter into the new week.

TGIM because that means I get a clean slate, a fresh start, and boy am I excited!! If you had a rough day, weekend, or week, it’s okay. Look at your struggles as your guide on how to improve yourself! Dismissing them does nothing for you and other side, dwelling on them will hinder you!!

R E A L TA L K πŸ‘‰πŸ» I’m embarrassed to admit I texted this pic to at least six friends asking if I β€œlooked OK enough to post?” Scared I didn’t look ”fit enough” and embarrassed I cared THAT much about random (and often hateful) social media comments. But here’s the thing: I’m proud of this body because I work hard to stay in shape (friendly reminder: β€œin shape” also means strong and healthy, not necessarily skinny) and this body has been through so many surgeries + injuries + rehab and it’s all part of my story. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
