3rd stage: Numbness
There came a point when I felt so much pain, that I started to feel nothing. A blank stare.
This is normal.
These feelings come in waves. You never know how big or small they will come at you, so it’s very important to keep yourself calm. You need to still process these new feelings. This is a delicate time, so it’s crucial to focus your energy on anything or anyone that can help you keep your head above water. For example, I kept playing tennis.. that helped me release a lot of physical and mental pain during those surreal times when I didn’t know what was going on. Or I listened to music a lot. All kinds. Music helped soothe my mind. I also cried. Crying was a very hard but a great release of pain that would shake the numbness. In order to stop feeling numb, you need to start feeling things again. Don’t be afraid to. You need to get your legs back at some point, and walk this off.. Thats the goal. To keep fighting through the numbness because no one else can do it for you. This is a time for you to grow... even though you might have no idea what has happened.. it is happening..you just need to dig deep.. deeper then you ever have before... you’re not alone. Keep moving.
