It's a 9th inning implosion as the Blue Jays fall to the Angels 5-4 in game 2. The Jays were playing good baseball, they were in fact leading the whole way until the 9th inning came around. The Jays bullpen has become unsustainable, it's that simple. Is it necessarily their fault? That's a discussion up for debate. The story for this years team is the starting pitching that can't go deep into games resulting in an overused and tired bullpen. Teams who have overworked bullpens tend to collapse later on in the season and that time for the Jays looks like it's now. So can you really be mad with the bullpen? Everyone knows that fatigue affects you no matter what. They fall to 3 games below .500. Aaron Sanchez had a good start on the mound but ran into a high pitch count once again. His line: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 5 BB, 2 SO. He got the no decision. Notables from the game were Devon Travis, Yangervis Solarte, and Kendrys Morales. Travis recorded his first hit since being recalled from Buffalo finishing the night 1-for-3 with an opposite field home run. Solarte had a multi hit game going 2-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Morales came off the bench in the 9th and recorded an RBI which brought the Jays to within one. The Jays will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon in the rubber match against the Angels. Note that the game will be in the afternoon and will be broadcasted from Facebook. Marco Estrada will get the ball for the Jays. Nick Tropeano will start for the Angels. First pitch is scheduled for 12:37 PM from the Rogers Centre.
