Two weeks from now will be my one-year anniversary in the Marine Corps. The lessons learned in Marine Corps, better yet, our own military within the limited amount of time has opened me up in several ways. I find it funny because I'm the one who once didn't care about our service members and the holidays that we honored until my enlistment happened, realizing what military service means to many people. It's awesome to see Veterans who are attending school, learning and setting the example for their children, I get humbled by their stories. Currently, there's a veteran in my class, who served in the army with combat two deployments under his belt and how he's delighted to be home. Stories like this are the reason why I continue to work on myself. I have so much to learn in the Marine Corps, the military, political and how our government works, and so forth. I am aware of some of our CURRENT ISSUES that is going on in our country, but I will not state my opinions because I'm a current service member of the armed forces! However, I will inform you this, I do believe in everyone having the opportunity SUCCEED as we all came here for a better life.
