During the 90-90: lead leg series there was a great cue on breathing from your diaphragm and taking air in and out of the lungs. This is something I don’t emphasise enough with clients. MEB really allows you to change your nervous system and can help expand your joints into new ranges.

I preach this all the time with my patients. If someone tells you that spinal manipulation, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, or any modality will fix you on its own, they are lying to you. The use of these tools can greatly optimize our tissues and joints for a period of time however, if we do not learn how to move properly, load our joints through different ranges of motion, and repeat frequently, the problem will reoccur in the not so distant future. Regular movement/exercise is necessary for good joint and tissue health, not to mention the release of various hormones that improve our ability to deal psychological stressors. Exercise is the most under prescribed medicine and the amazing part about it is that ITS FREE!!

Realizar pequeños juegos, a veces puede ser muy interesante por diversos motivos:

1️⃣-Salud Articular. Lo mejor que puedes hacer para mantener sanas tus articulaciones es moverlas. Y no nos referimos a buscar un nuevo ROM; sino a moverla a lo largo de todo su rango. Disfrutar de lo que tienes de forma diaria y variada.

2️⃣-Puede servir para sacar a la luz puntos débiles. La exposición a patrones nuevos suele provocar que nos demos cuenta de que, en cierta posición, no somos tan diestros como pensábamos.
.
Para jugar además ni siquiera hay que ser extremadamente creativo, algo tan sencillo como: "¿De cuántas formas puedo sortear este obstáculo?" ya nos proporciona un enorme abanico de posibilidades.

Playing some simple games, sometimes, can be very interesting for several reasons:

1️⃣- Articular health. The best thing you can do to keep healthy an articulation is moving it. And we not mean moving it searching for new ROM, but moving it through all it's range. Enjoying what you have daily and in various ways keeps you healthy.

2️⃣- It can help to highlight some weak points. The exposure to new patterns makes us realise that you are not as skillful as you thought in that position.
.
In order to play you don't need to be excessively creative. Something as simple as: "How many ways do I have to overcome that obstacle?" gives us a vast array of possibilities.

T-Spine Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs)
🔴The objective of this 'exercise' is to help facilitate movement through the thoracic vertebrae of the spine. My example is far from perfect (hint hint something to work on!) 🔴 Here I use a foam roller to help promote my own bodies self awareness to keep everything but my thoracic spine as still as possible as I move through my CARs
🔴Begin to irradiate the body to a self induced isometric contraction of 40-60% 🔴Slowly move through the thoracic part of the spine while keeping everything else still. 🔴If you don't OWN a joint then fluffy 'mobility' exercises will be an insufficient use of one's time, be as smart with your mobility as you would strength training
🔴This concept above is from the Functional Range Conditioning course I took in Dublin this year. One thing I can say with certainty is to take this course! If not for yourself then your clients! Mobility training should be taken as seriously as any other aspect of athleticism (strength, power, speed etc). Currently it seems that the automatic default diagnosis pertaining to scapular function is hyper-mobility. Much time is dedicated to the discussion and prescription of scapular "stabilizing" exercises. However In my experience, HYPO-mobility of the scapulothoracic joint combined with an inability to dissociate scapulo-humeral movement is far, far more common. Failing to address these issues prior to performing scapular control exercises (as seen in the video - #FRC End-Range Rotational Training: CKC Scapular circles) will act to reinforce, and long term potentiate aberrant movement execution

The #movement is the easiest part once the necessary articular ranges and control are achieved.

People spend so much time "trying" this or that movement...or setting up movement "progressions" to build up to the desired movement. Time is better spent improving control and function in the articulations involved in the movement.
