"Peter was not with them for the moment, and they felt rather lonely up there by themselves. He could go so much faster than they that he would suddenly shoot out of sight, to have some adventure in which they had no share. He would come down laughing over something fearfully funny he had been saying to a star, but he had already forgotten what it was, or he would come up with mermaid scales still sticking to him, and yet not be able to to say for certain what had been happening. It was really rather irritating to children who had never seen a mermaid." ~~ J.M. Barrie

Radical changes in world politics leave America with a heightened responsibility to be, for the world, an example of a genuinely free, democratic, just and humane society. (Quote by - Pope John Paul II)

I’m sorry for the time between my last post and this one. I had a lot going on and I needed a break..
Next stop... Philadelphia! I booked a room with my own bathroom at Airbnb just near a subway stop. So that way I could get to the city center very easily and go back to the Airbnb where I stayed within 10 minutes so that was awesome. I got a stomach virus when I stayed in Philadelphia so I didn’t see everything I wanted to see. But I did get some history lessons when I visited independence hall, the liberty bell and the constitution center! I love some history and culture lessons when I’m in a new country. That way I can learn something about the people, the country and the way they think and act because of that history and that culture!
So the girl I stayed with in Philadelphia showed me after her day at work around in the neighborhood. We went to a pub and got some drinks. I started talking to a girl behind the bar who was serving me drinks. She told me about the money she’d make on a night like that. So in the Netherlands we got contracts that say how much money you will make an hour. You and your employer sign that contract and that’s what you get payed an hour nothing more nothing less. What I got from the story the girl at the bar told me she lived from the tips she got every night. No money an hour just tips... that was the first time I heard about that... I’m used to the way we do things in the Netherlands so it shocked me a little bit that that girl just got payed from the tips she got from customers... a very big lesson on tipping when you are in the United States. #travel#travelguide#travelling#unitedstatesofamerica#backpacking#backpackers#backpacker_pics#backpackerlife#philadelphia#libertybell#constitutioncenter#declarationofindependence#independecehall#lonelyplanettraveller#lonelyplanet#history#culture#travelgram#instatravel
When we arrived in Myanmar, the first night we were a bit shocked. Guys in the street were all spitting red stuff as if they had just been in a fight or something. Little did we know then that it was from chewing the well know betel nuts. A typical thing and you can't miss it when you're visiting Myanmar.
~ La Digue Island is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles and has a population of 2,800. You have to pay to use this beach (scr115 per person) because you have to walk through a park to reach it. But to see these beautiful rock formations it’s totally worth it!
Who’s got this beach on their bucket list now!? ~

Gibraltar I took a day tour here from Malaga and only had a short while to explore the township. I spent the first half hour eating, and the next two hours pacing the streets in search of the Botanic Gardens (and that's with a map ). I ended up walking 2km in the opposite direction, and then wound up another 1km straight past it! I was left lost and frustrated with only 20 minutes remaining until my bus departed. Quickest run of my life, I tell ya.
