I want to give you guys a little Whole30 update as I’m about halfway through! umm I feel freakin AMAZING seriously, my life has been changed. End of story.
Actually though, I’ve been dealing with stomach problems and trying to figure out what I can/can’t eat for 8+ years now and starting Whole 30 has made a world of a difference for me cutting out dairy, gluten, and added sugar were always such huge feats for me, but when I committed to this round of Whole 30, a few days in it felt natural to eat this way. My stomach only ever bothers me when I “cheat” so I want to talk about my experiences with this “cheating” I’ve had some wine here and there, I’ve had some chocolate on occasion, I’ve had chicken that the marinate said “sugar” in its ingredients, but that’s OKAY for me, and I’m sure for many of you too, it’s unrealistic to expect perfection. In the past, when I would try a “diet” or a specific way of eating, at the first slip up I would quit. That was probably the best advice I got from my cousin ( @rachel ) to be forgiving to yourself and to not give up, and honestly, I think that’s what has made me love this new way of eating for me so much. It CAN be maintainable throughout every day life. It’s just making the healthy choices majority of the time, eating REAL, WHOLE foods the majority of the time, and allowing yourself that piece of chocolate (side note: I’ve been eating dark chocolate during this which is a HUGE step for this milk chocolate lover ) and not depriving yourself when you’re really craving something. And when I’ve eaten something not that great for me or not necessarily Whole 30 approved, my body let’s me know, which really fuels me to keep going with this healthy eating
Sooo super long rant, but I have a lot of feels about how much better I’m feeling so if you have any questions or more advice for me, please comment or message me! I’d love to hear from you all and your experiences!
