Soaking in the sun, walking the beach, & finding little bubble shells right by my feet. #springbreak There is something so special about these shells. The little lines are so prefect they look painted, and they are so very fragile. The first one I ever found I thought was fake. ♀️Sometimes, I go months without finding any, and other times I see them all over.
From trash to treasure.
I have always been an avid beachcomber, but I have recently started upcycling the colourful chunks of ocean plastic that wash up on my local beaches.
By cutting facets into the smooth forms, sanding and buffing them to a high shine, I have been creating fascinating recycled "gems" that can be set into jewellery.
Not only are these pieces completely unique, with their own castaway stories, but it's a tiny act of environmental kindness.
I'll keep you posted as this collection develops further.
