NYC is filled with ambitious, talented young LGBT entrepreneurs vying for accomplishment. Today, I had lunch with one of the most earnest, handsome (See pics:), and driven among those: @brockyurich. Brock is a working actor (In 2016, I attended the Manhattan premiere of “Goat”, starring James Franco & Nick Jonas, in which Brock had a meaningful role.), an aspiring writer/director, and a fitness coach, for now. He’s also an active part of the bodybuilding world. His current project, “TEST”, for which he wrote the script and will direct the full length feature film, focuses on the path of an earnest young guy, much like himself, who has to deal with coming out in that environment and navigate other roadblocks that arise, including the temptation of steroid use. Making a top quality movie is no small feat these days and costs a lot. Brock is in the process of raising the funds needed to bring his script to life. He and the script were already selected for a film industry crowdsourcing platform which helped kickstart their fundraising and he’s been adopted by NYC’s prestigious Film Forum as his non-profit sponsor. Still, there’s quite a ways to go before shooting can begin. If you or anyone you know would care to support this worthy effort, you can contribute to the project at https://boxoffice.printtixusa.com/filmforum/sponsor?src=Brock+Yurich-TEST (Also, see the link in his profile at @brockyurich). After meeting Brock today and taking his measure, I’m confident he’ll achieve his goal. Nonetheless, any help he might receive now will make the path less rigorous.
