I love doing drops not only for the metabolic stress they put on the body but by the amount of tension you create during the entirety of the set. I don’t set a range of reps I try and accomplish, I just try and push till close to failure/change in tempo/etc. I haven’t been counting my reps for about 6-7 months now and have noticed huge strides in my physique as well as workout to workout. Why do I recommend not counting reps?
Well, the reason I think it’s most important is that it allows you to not focus on reaching a numerical value as a reason of accomplishment. I hear the whole “low reps/heavy weight for strength and mass and high reps/low weight for endurance” when all that is too me is just some other bullshit people try and feed into your mouth. I just believe in trying to keep a set longer then a minute. That’s my numerical value. Why? Because how are you suppose to change with resistance only being applied for 10-20 seconds at a set? You can’t change. There will be no growth. 60 seconds. Optimal range.
Happy Sunday y’all
