Ride to the Radler! This Sunday 6/24. Lifecycle is proud to partner with @revbeer in celebrating their beer release “Grapefruit Radler”. Bicycles and beer have a storied history together, and we with Revelation are recreating a historic moment of bicycles and beer. Read on.... The term Radler means “cyclist” in German and it originates with a beverage called Radlermass. We frequently like to tell of the storied history of bicycles and beer. The term Radlermass means “cyclist liter” and was a beverage originally created by Innkeeper Franz Kugler just outside Munich. According to AmericanCraftBeer.com, “During the great cycling boom of the Roaring Twenties, Kugler created a bicycle trail from Munich, through the woods, which led directly to his drinking establishment. On a beautiful June day in 1922, a reported “13,000 cyclists” crashed Kugler’s party. Fast running out of beer, he blended it 50/50 with a lemon soda he could never seem to get rid of, and the rest is history.” The Grapefruit Radler is going to taste incredible after our Breakwater Trail ride to the brewery. Gather a crew and join us for a fun pedal down the trail in celebration for the release of Grapefruit Radler, the beer for people who love bicycles.
