Are you looking to apply for a job, either now or in the near future?
Is your resume deliberately tailored to the job description you are seeking?
Will it maximize your chances of receiving a call-back interview?
Are you looking in the right places for your dream job?
Over the past few years, I have helped so many friends conquer the career development stage so many people mess up.... The Resume. *dun dun dun*
A resume is a first impression. Most employers spend less than 30 seconds looking at resumes. A poorly written resume that is not specifically tailored towards the job positions you are applying, will greatly reduce your chance of receiving a call-back or interview. Unfortunately, it can be incredibly difficult to determine if your resume is appropriate for the position and well-written. That is where I come in.
My resume writing process is broken down into 3 simple steps:
1) Consultation: This is my chance to learn as much as I can about you and your previous work/life experiences. We will discuss what positions you are interested in (company, industry, job title, location, etc) and how your experience relate to those positions.
2) Write-It-Up: Based on the information I gather from our consultation, I will write up a resume that is specifically tailored for the position(s) you are applying.
3) Review, Final Touches, How to Apply The Right Way: Typically, step 2 gets me to about 95% completion. This final step is just to sort out any remaining details and final touches. We will talk about how this resume can be easily modified in the future, how to apply to positions the RIGHT WAY (considerations to timing, following up, cold-emailing, LinkedIn InMailing etc). And then, off you go! You are now in a strong position to land more interviews and begin that next process.
