Making a movie near kips bay. I also saw a trailer in jersey transporting Ford LTD taxis from the 70’s into the city near the Lincoln Tunnel that day. This car’s mock-ups that can decipher this as an inauthentic taxi are very small and easy to overlook. They are as follows:
The license plate doesn’t have a tiny letter (A-H) after the four digits.
Also, the license plate has a small NY state shaped blob before it’s digits, which real cabs do not have.
The fake medallion number is just that. The letter X is common among movie/television taxis, but isn’t in real medallions. Neither the roof light nor the license plate would hold the letter X.
And finally, the logos on the passenger door, while correct, and current for today’s taxis, one a passenger hailing, and two, the airport fare. Are always in a circle, and not a square.
