One thing we hear from many people as to why they haven’t achieved their goal is whole issue of ‘a lack of time’ and being ‘too busy’. In most cases, it’s really a case of being more ruthless with your time, assessing and juggling your priorities. Fitness should never be your number one priority, but if you’re looking to take your results to the next level, it should certainly be in the top five.

Where it lies in that five will depend on the phase you’re at in your journey. 16 weeks away from deadline? It’ll probably sit around number 4. 2-3 weeks away from a photoshoot or deadline? It might be closer to 2, and in some parts of your day, number 1.

As you train for longer and reassess your goals over time, you’ll find yourself constantly shifting your priority order. Right now for @akashvaghela, it’s probably at number 5 (family & friends, business, writing and travel probably making up the others in no particular order), but this time last year when Akash was 3-4 weeks out from a BB show, it was probably at number 2. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t train or eat well, it just means he doesn’t really give it much extra thought and just focus on ticking the boxes.

By moving it up and down in your list, you’ll find the right balance for you to avoid burnout, continue to enjoy the process and ultimately, stay healthier in the long run.
