#collarsoffforrocco A reminder to our owners to take our collars off when we are at home by ourselves. It’s a little belated but I just heard the terribly sad story today about the border terrier pup Rocco. He lost his life after getting his collar caught on a kitchen door handle while his owner was at work. Love and thoughts are with Rocco's family. RIP Rocco #collarsoff#dogslife#dogsofig#muttsofinstagram#dogs
A sadder post today... In memory of Rocco the border terrier pup hanged by his collar accidentally while home unsupervised. Don’t crate a dog with a collar on and if you can, remove them totally except for out on walks. I know it’s a small risk, but the consequences are potentially horrific. Thanks to @zooshiespets for the photo
We lost our beautiful boy in July. Posting this in memory of both him and Rocco. #collarsoffforrocco
I am a firm believer of not having collars on dogs indoors. Ever since Bailey was a puppy, he’s always had his off. I have heard too many stories of dogs getting them caught in cages (and now a door knob!). Your pet does not need a collar indoors, but if you do have a reasoning to it, please remove it when you’re not home or you’re sleeping. We do not need to lose more puppies over this cause! This one does not only go out for Rocco, but every other dog who has passed because of collars. #riprocco#collarsoffforrocco •
After reading the sad story of what happened to poor baby Rocco, we too are joining in on the #collarsoffforrocco We always try to do things that will keep our fur babies out of harms way, but you wouldn’t think a collar could be something that would cause such heartbreak please join us and take off the collar! But remember to keep them on outdoors .

#collarsoffforrocco so so sad to read the awful story about Rocco the 5 month old Border Terrier puppy, he was found hanging from a kitchen door after his collar got caught...I'll always be taking Paddy and Nancy's collars off from now on...so dangerous and something I've never even thought about before...#riprocco
Very sad news about the 5 months old pup Rocco who tragically died because he got his collar stuck on the door handle by jumping . Lets support Rocco and his family with the hastag. #collarsoffforrocco #riprocco
This morning I read some sad news. The story of Rocco the 5 month old border terrier. Rocco's owner went to work leaving Rocco in the kitchen as normal, but sadly returned to find Rocco had got his collar caught on the door handle and had passed away.
Since then the love for poor Rocco has poured in with hundreds of pictures of dogs pictured not wearing their collar using the hashtag #collarsoffforrocco
So of course Patch wanted to show his support for the no collar at home motion. Rocco's family are urging dog owners to consider if their dogs really need to wear a collar at home, to hopefully avoid further deaths.
Naked puppies from now on when we're inside I've just read about the poor 5 month old Border Terrier puppy Rocco, who tragically hung himself on his collar while trying to reach something on the kitchen counter. I can't imagine anything more heartbreaking or traumatic to come home to as an owner #collarsoffforrocco#heartbreaking#nakedpuppies#collarsoff
Mum says we are wild hounds when we're in the house & garden from now on, as you never know when accidents can happen, especially when you're playful bouncy pooches like us #collarsoffforrocco RIP Rocco
