Our Education and Conservation Officer has taken some beautiful pictures from around the farm recently. We think it’s truly wonderful to see such beautiful creatures in their natural habitats
Pinus taeda (Loblolly Pine) is native to the southern US. It’s the larval host of the Elf butterfly and the Southern Pine Sphinx moth. It is also the dominant tree species in The Lost Pines Forest of Bastrop, TX. The Loblolly pines in this forest are thought to have once belonged to the Piney Woods region of TX, AR, LA, and OK. But the forest shrank during the Pleistocene era, leaving the Lost Pines Forest stranded over 100 miles away.

Don't rush to the light for it's too bright
Don't rot in the dark for you may loose the sight
Light at the end of the tunnel they say, but it's the end
Ever saw the blue journey? A thought to lend
For the goal, now and then you fight
Look at the journey, submerge in for its the light.
Going for the end, do you know it's the end of this funnel?
The light at the end is of an infinite another tunnel.
Arguing against cities that want Big Oil to compensate for climate damages, federal lawyers say such an outcome would curb #fossilfuel production, a #Trump priority.
San Francisco and Oakland have sued five major oil and gas companies in an attempt to hold fossil fuel producers accountable for the effects of #climatechange. Lawyers for the Trump administration have now filed a brief in support of the companies’ efforts to have these cases dismissed.

The Trump administration fights actively against a clean future and for large-scale pollution.
They are not climate change deniers – they are profit-seeking manipulators who only care about short-term profits and one or two terms in government.
Young people (and older people who care) don’t let Big Industry and power hungry politicians burn your future. The people who make these decisions now will be dead when the real problems start. Anyone born after the year 2000 will be affected.
If nothing changes expect large-scale food and water shortages, flooded cities and countries, mass refugees, the breakdown of societies and wars … amongst other things.
Join us to fight for a better future.

Wandering through the woods at the last rain brought all kinds of creatures out - like this guy! One of these can eat up to 1,000 insects per day (although maybe not at this size) and contrary to popular belief, you wont get warts if you touch one.
What is this tiny #amphibian?
Amazing photos right? The ocean is pure and full of various marine species. This is the beauty of the Great Australian Bight. But what if I tell you... this place...is in danger..and everything that you're looking at right now will be gone if we don't act. (Photo credits to the owners)
Statoil: Step Out of the Bight! The Great Australian Bight is one of the world’s last unexploited areas – a pristine wilderness off Australia’s southern coastline, home to a critical whale sanctuary, tight-knit coastal communities and fishing towns, and more unique species than the famous Great Barrier Reef. But all of this is threatened if Norwegian oil giant Statoil goes ahead with their plan to drill in the Bight for oil.
There are so many reasons to protect the Great Australian Bight: majestic southern right whales, endangered Australian sea lions, our biggest fishing communities, pristine beaches, hundreds of kilometres of towering cliffs and some of the most unique marine life on Earth.
The movement against oil, led by First Nations People around the world, is calling for Statoil to end their exploitation of the earth and sea.
Anchor update. The rain stoped long enough for the finishing touches to be applied to the anchors outside the Museum. Now they need a few weeks for the paint to fully cure. Please help by not sitting or touching the anchors until all the cones and caution tape has been removed. #navymuseum#conservation
