I’ve always been self-conscious about my body and have often contended with feeling comfortable in my own skin. I hold too much control over what/how I eat and have put my body through the ringer in training, races, and adventures. Despite that, I love my body. It has carried me through adventures allowing me to (momentarily) calm my mind and has allowed me to push my limits. It is now allowing me to take on hours and hours and miles and miles of training for a 200 mile race to raise awareness for mental health. Although we’ve had our differences, I’m grateful for my mind and body coming together for arguably my greatest challenge yet. Who else can relate? Sharing the first story for mental health awareness this Thursday at 5pm mountain time (7pm eastern standard time). Stay tuned!
