I wanted to show the difference in brush pens and why every brand is so different. The feel, the ink, the difficulty, the color. It is all a major factor when choosing your pen. So going from top left to bottom right, I will explain what differences I see.
Ecoline - Very bold, heavy ink, true black, easy to do calligraphy, doesn’t require pressing hard.
Artline - Less bold than Ecoline, looks more like a dark grey, requires you to press hard to create a nice stroke.
Tombow - Bold, true black, doesn’t take a lot of pressure to create calligraphy.
Koi - Bold, true black, requires a normal amount of pressure, is also a small pen to work with.
Kelly Creates (Dream Pen) - Somewhat bold, requires a normal amount of pressure, easy to work with.
Kelly Creates (Small Brush) - Looks like a dark grey, requires a little more pressure, easy to write with.
Kelly Creates (Aqua Brush) - Somewhat bold, very hard to feel how much pressure to use, comes out more like a brush stroke, has actual bristles.
Crayola Brush Pens - Looks more like a dark green (yikes), requires a regular amount of pressure, tip of the pen tends to fray easily (I would only use this pen on a marker paper). Tombow (soft tip) - I have gotten so used to doing calligraphy with a soft tip, that I thought this one was the hard tip ♀️ I love using this in my bujo, it’s a great beginners pen, easy to manipulate, bold color.
Tombow (Hard Tip) - It is crazy how hard I had to push for this pen. I got so used to soft tips! This would be a great beginners brush, and then you can slowly move to more soft tipped pens.
Pentel - I LOVE these pens, I used them to address envelopes and they are so fun to use. Moderate amount of pressure, and creates a beautiful calligraphy.
I hope you enjoyed my explanation of each brand. Right now, I would have to say my favorite is Ecoline, and my least favorite is Crayola. Should I do more comparisons with different colors? #calligraphy #Ecolinebrushpen #ecoline #artlinestix #tombowdualbrushpens #koibrushpen #kellycreates #crayola #tombowfudenosuke #pentelfudetouch #comparison #art #moderncalligraphy #review
