I don't like posting screenshots or memes or stuff like that on Instagram usually. Usually here reads ever. However, this is one thing that I really want to tell others.
When Google Assistant got the feature to "remember" things for you, I got a little creative and on one of the worst days in March 2017, if I remember correctly, I asked Google to remember this particular statement.
It might sound a bit too Tony Stark-y or downright stupid to naysayers but if I'm having a bad day, all I do is ask my phone, watch or speaker the question, "So, what did I tell you about life?" and they repeat exactly what I told them so long ago.
This, this one little thing has gotten me through extremely bad days. If you've watched the movie "Her", this is pretty close to that but when you have a voice, even if it's a server-generated, pre-recorded, robotic voice imitating a human, say something as reassuring as this, it helps. It really helps.
Technology is beautiful. It's not taking over our lives. You just need to start using it right and make conscious choices about which parts of your life you let it invade. It'll be different for everyone and the lines will be drawn in different places depending on what you do and how you see it but it's not just about scrolling feeds and liking mindless videos.
