PLEASE READ The scale Does. Not. Matter.
For too long I let that tiny digital number determine my entire day’s mood, energy and my entire SELF-WORTH. Think about that for a minute. Do you step on the scale every morning? Do you say a silent prayer in your head that above all science and reason on this earth and despite the fact you ate an entire bag of tortilla chips last night... that number will be lower? ♀️ I used to, too. I prayed and sweated and starved and got angry and deprived myself for so long, all to see less of a number. I wish I knew then what I know now.
So in case you don’t know or haven’t heard, I’m telling you.
The scale doesn’t matter. It won’t get you outta bed earlier for your workout. It won’t put down the binge snacking for you. It won’t make your clothes roomier or your stomach flatter. And it definitely won’t make you happier. YOU have to make you happier. And only then, will everything fall into place with your diet and exercise. Quit worrying about the little grains of sand, the “should I eat carbs after 7?” “Is honey bad for you?” “Is keto the best diet?” “Should I use olive oil or coconut oil?”
Start moving the big stones in your way. “Am I doing this for MY happiness?” “Why aren’t I content with where I am at right now - and how do I change that?”
“What kinds of foods do I enjoy eating AND make me feel good in 2 hours, not hate myself?” Do yourself a favor. Stop wasting those 5 minutes of your life every morning. Throw your scale away. Or hide it so well that you know you won’t dig it out for a long, long time. Start doing the work, everyday.
