My beautiful friend, a mama of two, whose mother had died of cancer, had the dreaded news that she had early stages of cervical cancer.
This is one the worst possible news that a parent could be told. My friend had to have a full hysterectomy and thank goodness, she is now cancer free. Pap/smear test SAVED her LIFE. Those weeks & months, must have been torture for everyone. Especially for her father, who had lost the love of his life to cancer and then to find out that his daughter had cancer too, must have been so crushing.
After my HPV vaccine plea post, a few minutes ago I received a message from a young lady from America telling me that she had been diagnosed with having a HPV virus for six years and that some form of herbal therapy has now cured her of the virus. Well, perhaps this source of the herbal therapy should get in touch with the world’s leading medical scientists so that we can eradicate the HPV virus completely!
I do not dispute anybody’s health beliefs. As long as they don’t hurt anyone. But this can, however, be dangerous. In this case, this young lady might be hurting herself.
When I read this message my mummy brain went into a massive panic mode and I am now panicking and worrying whether this young girl has been going for her regular Pap/cervical smear tests, especially since she’s had this HPV diagnosis.
Please, regardless of your beliefs, go to your regular PAP/Smear tests. They only last a couple of minutes and they WILL save your life! Early detection IS prevention.
I am sure there are thousands of people out there who have lost their family members or friends to Cervical Cancer; I’m sure they would beg you to get tested. Take it seriously.
Please make sure that you have regular dental check ups too (for HPV related oral cancers). Be kind to you. Think of your family and your long healthy life together.
