UPDATE Sadly, the court did not have time to hear Skye’s case and it has been adjourned until the 20th June. This means Skye will have to stay in kennels until an outcome is decided. Understandably, Skye’s family are very upset.
#breedspecificlegislation is unfair, cruel and simply does not work, no matter where in the #world it is implemented.
Beautiful Skye’s family are in court today to secure her freedom. Please take a moment to wish them #goodluck - we will pass on your wishes to them.
Skye’s owners contacted our colleagues Putting BSL to Sleep UK on Facebook for support and assistance.
She was already an exempt #dog and had been back home for a short time, when a malicious neighbour allegedly reported her for being out without her muzzle. This was completely untrue according to Skye’s owner, however, under the #dangerousdogs act you are presumed guilty until you prove your innocence, therefore, Skye was seized again.
Skye was only 7 months old when she was originally seized, she spent the following 7 months in police kennels, she's already missed so much of a secure home life and is now back in police kennels.
Her family love her dearly and just want her back for good.
We will bring you an update once we have further news. #dogstagram #dogs #dogsofinstagram #doggy #pitbull #pitbullsofinstagram #pitbulls #pitbulladvocate
