Thankful that our lives crossed paths at just the right time: 16 months later, 19 cities, 11 states, and one foreign country. We are thankful for all the opportunities we have and excited for the future ahead! Wishing you a happy holiday surrounded by family and friends
I captured this during our bus trip while in Denali, It is a great way to experience the park and build lasting memories. There was an active strom system that day and the landscape was just looking out of the world.
Ray pioneered routes, and guiding, on North America’s tallest mountain—Denali. He was even part of the first winter ascent on the 20k foot mammoth mountain, as featured in the Art Davidson’s book Minus 148 Degrees. Ray met his untimely death on Mount Everest in 1979, but his legacy would live on in his son Taras and the Alaska Mountain Guides cabin he built on Main St Talkeetna.
Now almost 40 years later, @thehighexpedition has transformed Ray’s hand-built cabin into an Alaska mountaineering museum with Ray as the center-piece. In addition, The High Expedition is building a lifestyle apparel brand around the #tothesummit spirit of The Pirate, and pioneering a new industry of its own as a marijuana dispensary.
Denali titanium money clip. I spent years working and reworking this design, playing with different alloys to come up with the best, strongest, and lightest money clip around. Plus it will hold on to a single bill for all you dirtbags. Or if you’re like me it just holds onto my drivers license and a few sad debit cards. #moneyclip#titaniummoneyclip#titanium#denali#denalinps#rockclimbing#mountains
"Casual lights." I stayed up until 5am this night. This was around 4am after we ran out of firewood and bratwurst. I jumped off the roof I was taking photos on, and ran to the highway where the sky opened up to this view. I'll never forget this entire night. It was amazing! #northernlights#auroraborealis#aurora#alaska#denalinps
The weather outside in Calgary right now reminds me of some good times in Alaska in 2007. Ping pong ball conditions dodging crevasses on the Kahiltna Glacier while hauling 60lb packs and 80lb sleds, trying not to get lost.
Denali in the Alaska Range is the 3rd most topographically prominent summit on planet Earth. Prominence is basically how high the summit rises from its surroundings. I love to stare out into amazing landscapes and imagine the geological processes that took place over millions of years to shape what we see today. Trying to imagine what took place for Denali to rise so high above its surroundings is absolutely mind blowing.
