HOW TO EXERCISE WHEN U ARE NOT RICH
I really dislike fitness culture in general because for the most part it’s geared toward people with enough money and time to exercise whenever they want and look kewl doing it. This, however, is not reality. Not for me, anyway. For starters, I *hate* the gym. I hate exercising in front of people. I hate wiping sweat off machines. I hate sweating indoors. I realize this type of structured environment works for a lot of people- it does not work for me. But more importantly, I don’t have fucking time for the gym. I don’t have time to be sweaty and get not sweaty again and go to my job and make food and be a person on a daily basis, nor do I want to. I don’t have $60 to spend on swass-resistant leggings. It’s all a hard pass for me. I do like to get exercise though, because it feels good and helps me not do murders. So I walk. Walking is kewl because you can get other stuff done while you do it. You can do errands and visit people and be productive and not just be sweating in a mirror in expensive shorts. Walking is my JAM. On days when I have the luxury of time I climb my fave mountain, which I did today. It was glorious. I was already out and I decided not to go home and change because it would have taken 100 years and I would have probably become lazy in that time, so I climbed a mountain in flip flops and jeans. AND SOMEHOW MY BODY STILL DID EXERCISE. Long story short, it’s okay to skip the proper equipment and steal moments of exercise when you can, broke bitches.
