Yesterday I posted a video with some guidelines that control hunger, today I wanted to give you some more practical tips on how to control hunger when dieting!

Something that lots and lots of people underestimate is the importance of food choices when it comes to hunger. Yes, calories are king and macros come second. But if those calories and macros come from foods with little to no nutritional value, you're not going to control your hunger.

These 9 foods will definitely help you control your hunger. Black coffee and espresso because caffeine has an appetite suppressing working. Broccoli and oatmeal because they're high in fibre. Protein powder, Greek yogurt and tuna because they're high in protein and these will definitely fill you up!

Lastly, Halo Top. This will be an awesome alternative to ice cream if you're really craving it. Do I advise you to eat a pint of Halo top a day? That's probably not a smart idea. One or two a week? That's completely cool!

Bench MORE. If you want to get better at something you have to do more of it! So if a bigger bench press is your goal, benching 1x per week will not cut it. Make sure you’re benching at least twice a week, but 3x will be more ideal if bench is your main goal 👍🏻

Variation is important as well. Work with a variety of rep ranges and cycle through them, chase progressive overload each week. Sticking with one rep range will make it harder to progress. Also, adding in a bench press variation is great. Since building my bench is a goal, I do close grip bench press when I hit arms. I work with a higher rep range, and it will carry over to your bench strength 💪🏻

Lastly eat enough! You’re going to need to fuel your workouts, especially if you’re a hardgainer. If your training frequency is adequate and you train properly, but your strength has stalled. Evaluate the diet. Are you eating enough? If you are unaware, start tracking to get an idea. You may find you’re not eating nearly as much as you thought, or your protein is insufficient 👌🏻

Leider läuft es mit der Diät nicht wie gewünscht... esse immer noch zu viele Kohlenhydrate... aber morgens kann ich und werd ich nicht darauf verzichten.
Ich versuche mit Sport auf ein tägliches Defizit von 1000 kcal zu kommen. Das schaffe ich leider nicht immer... Ich setze mir jetzt kleine Ziele... möchte bis Ende Juni 5 kg verlieren. Das ist denke schaffbar.

This is usually the first go-to. I promise, your body needs both & neither inherently causes you to gain fat—eating too many TOTAL CALORIES does.

🏎️💨GO TOO INTENSE🏎️💨
Consistency beats intensity every time. More is not always better. Focus on changing 1, *maybe* 2 things at once then stop & ride the progress. Think maintainable not as hard & fast as possible.
- 🤢STARVE YOURSELF🤢
Do you need to eat a little less to lose? Yes. But if you eat too little (starve yourself) that won’t work either. Make a 10-15% deficit, that’s it.

🏃TOO MUCH CARDIO🏃
Again, more isn’t always better. Don’t go nuts on cardio, start out with just strength training.

💊TOO MANY SUPPLEMENTS💊
There is no magic, physique changing supplement. Don’t even worry about supplements until you can get your diet & training right.

🥗EAT PERFECTLY CLEAN🥗
Don’t give up all the fun food you enjoy. Most people who start a diet literally cut out “fun food” for the rest of their life. That leads to feeling deprived & then you’re a ticking time bomb till you cave & binge for a month. Don’t do that to yourself. Learn moderation & consistency.

Carotenosis (yellow coloured skin) is a reversible condition caused by the build up of beta-carotene, which is a form of #vitaminA found in plant based food sources. Beta-carotene is a provitamin A, meaning it has to be first converted into active vitamin A, before the body can use it.

One enzyme beta-carotene oxygenase 1 (encoded by the BCO1 gene) is responsible for converting beta-carotene to active vitamin A. Both the amount and the activity of this enzyme controls just how much beta-carotene is activated.
.
DNA changes in the BCO1 gene that affect the activity of this enzyme can have drastic effects on vitamin A levels. For example, inheriting one mutated copy of the BCO1 gene (called rs7501331) can decrease the ability to convert beta-carotene by 32%. Surprisingly, almost half of us (44% of the population) carry at least one copy of this version of BCO1.

These ‘poor converters’ are at much higher risk of vitamin A deficiency, especially if they are #vegetarian or #vegan and rely heavily on plant sources. Because when your #diet doesn’t contain active vitamin A (which is found in animal products), being able to properly process plant material becomes essential.
