We paddled out here at 5pm, through the jagged rock formations and over the coral reefs, and then we waited. Waited for the last tourist boat to leave (can you see it?), the fish to start jumping, and the sun to start setting. We sat in silence while the last light shone through the looming rock stacks, and the silky water held us floating in the middle of the lagoon. Magical moments to reflect on what a crazy beautiful world we live in
Two shots, same spot, different perspectives. Which do you prefer, from the water or the air?

Blue Lagoon. A large geothermal pool rich in minerals such as silica and sulfur, fed by deep undergound vents, which give the water its magical blue hue. The medicinal properties of the water is said to help treat and relieve symptoms of a variety of skin diseases, such as psoriasis, but the silica mud can be enjoyed by anyone seeking a "spa day". The water is around 100 degrees farenheit, while the surrounding air is much cooler, making this a wonderful place to soak. Hot tub anyone? The aesthetic is amplified by the surrounding lava fields which truly makes it a wonder of the world. As our plane arrived at 5:30 a.m. this was the perfect first stop. Getting there when they opened allowed us to essentially have the place to ourselves, for a short time anyway, and then the waves of people fluctuated in.
