As adults, it’s easy to read this and apply it to a child’s life. As a child, this probably sounds really nice, but unrealistic. Surely there is more we can do as adults to make this seem like reality for children.
We can start by not telling them that there is something wrong with their bodies. They deserve to love their bodies and nourish their bodies and thrive in their bodies.
Some kids may live in bigger or smaller bodies and it doesn’t matter. Whatever body you live in is perfect and beautiful.
How can we motivate this kind of thinking with children? Create environments that enable this message. Talk to schools. Talk to peers. Talk to coaches. Talk to yourself. Learn to trust that your child knows how to intuitively live in their own body.
Make these thoughts a reality for your child.
