Post-back & bis breakfast!!😻(I’ll have the workout up for you guys later!!) This morning I made a stack of lemon blueberry protein pancakes topped w/ @halotopcreamery new blueberry crumble flavor. I was so excited when I finally found this at the store!!🙌🏼 I get asked all the time where I shop, and most people are surprised when I tell them I’ve never been to Sprouts, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe’s.😅 I mainly shop at my local Walmart Neighborhood Market and sometimes Publix. I’ve posted this recipe before, but in case you missed it, here it is again.😊👇🏼

Lemon Blueberry Protein Pancakes:
blend:
- 1 banana
- 4 egg whites - 2 scoops @betterbodyfoods Organic Plant Protein - stevia to taste
- splash of lemon juice
One blended, mix 1/4C blueberries in the batter, cook in coconut oil, and add toppings. I topped mine w/ a serving of @halotopcreamery blueberry crumble, another 1/4C of blueberries, and a sprinkle of stevia.

- 1 frozen banana 🍌 - 1 tbsp wheat germ
- 2 tbsp protein powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 cup frozen spinach
- dash of cinnamon

I topped it off with @foodforlifebaking ezekiel cereal for a little crunch. I don’t like to drink a smoothie in the morning, why? 🤷‍♀️ Because I LIKE TO EAT 🙃 + a chopped brazil nut because it gives you a daily dose of SELENIUM! I realized after tracking my meals for youtube videos that I wasn’t getting enough every day, so now I eat one brazil nut every day thanks to @nutrition_facts_org recommendation.

Hellooooo amazing almond butter "blondies!!" @kristincavallari nailed it with this recipe! Instantly a family favorite, so easy to make, and decently healthy considering it tastes like an effin BROWNIE!

1 cup almond butter
1/2 c coconut sugar
1/2 c dark chocolate chips
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp kosher salt (pink sea salt)
1 large zucchini, grated
.
Heat oven to 350, line 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper
Mix almond butter, egg, salt, vanilla, sugar, and baking soda until well combined.
Fold in zucchini and chocolate chips
Pour batter in pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.

😇The 0 calorie drink does yes indeed contain sweetener but unless you intend on drinking it ridiculously excessively then you have nothing to worry about. As with everything the “devil is in the dose”

💍Frozen fruits are a staple in my freezer & I don’t really ever make smoothies, I just love them with Greek Yoghurt & a spoonful of protein powder, or some sugar free syrup.

🤗I remember as a kid we always used to make cup lollies out of a bit squash & water, unfortunately I wasn’t patient enough to wait for them to defrost before trying to eat them so would either end up smashing the cup, bending the metal spoon or both, as an adult i’m no better so I stick to these fruit pastel lollies instead.

I need one more round of playing with measurements before I share a detailed recipe, but here's a list of ingredients: coconut milk, fresh grated ginger, fresh minced garlic, five spice (in lieu of garam masala - they have some overlap in which spices are in the mix), tumeric powder, hot chili powder, black pepper, cumin, sesame oil, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, eggplant, and sweet potato leaves. .

Getting ready for sunnier weather this weekend with a bright @siggisdairy bowl ☀️🌴 But before you go, let’s play a game of “find the seasonal fruit” in this bowl- is it mango? Cherries? Dried goji berry?

This is kind of a trick question 🤭Mangoes are a tropical fruit that don’t have much of a true “season” in the US, along with those little gojis, and cherries are at their peak in summer, so not quite there yet either. BUT the mango and cherry in my breakfast are of the FROZEN variety, which means they are picked and frozen at the peak of freshness in their respective growing season. Having frozen fruit options allows you to bend the lines of seasonality, break the winter rut of apples and oranges, and ensures a wide variety of micronutrients and tastes! I always encourage my patient to utilize frozen fruits (and veggies) and I’ll say the same to you! Happy almost Friday, friends!

First and foremost - worth saying, peanut butter is primarily a fat source - not a protein one. That said, it isn't necessarily off the cards for fat loss if you can use your will power!

It is VERY easy to over eat because it tastes so god damn delicious! If you are looking to lose fat and calories come at a premium, make sure you exercise portion control - both of these are 'teaspoons' but quite different in terms of calories - just a watch out as can easily add up over time (especially if you are like me and it is 1 for the bowl, 1 for me...🙈)

British strawberry season is almost here - I can almost smell those little berries already 🍓 Sweet, juicy strawberries are treats when right off the plant. Supermarket berries tend to be tart with grainy texture; this is because the natural sugar in the berries begins converting to starch as soon as it is plucked from the plant. Having a cracking time making Sourdough Crackers 😉. Came home after work and got straight into mixing the dough and rolling it out and I ummed and ahhed about using a ruler to cut them up but decided to just go free hand.
Also thanks to those who watched my first video on stories last night where I came out from behind the camera - lots of positive feedback and nobody heckled me 😅. I'm hoping to do more and hopefully it'll come more naturally and I won't feel so awkward. It's funny, I spend all day talking to patients in my day job and often they're strangers and I don't have an issue there but as soon you put a camera in front of me I'm self conscious. EATING OUTSIDE is just so special. I like to fool myself we’re on holiday thanks to being three stories high, smelling like suncream and with a view. ☀️ And when it came to food choices, I instantly moved into #summer mode, with roast chicken, sweet potato fries and an array of salads! ✈️ Who needs to go on holiday when we’re treated to weather like this?!

Actually only kidding this is Mia’s breakfast 🤗 she loves bagels so she thought she’d try some with nut butter and fruit as she hadn’t tried that combination on a bagel before. The verdict was she loved the peanut butter and banana (who wouldn’t) but wasn’t so sure about the strawberries and almond butter. I love berries on toast so maybe she will change her mind!!! 🙃

She used @pipandnut peanut and almond butter and then I helped her sprinkle on some chia seeds and cacao nibs from @naturesheartsuperfoods ❤️

Q&A POST 1/3: NUTRITION 🍎.
What a journey I’ve been on with my nutrition. I began as a 17-year-old girl, aspiring to be a Victoria’s Secret model. And what does any VS model “appear” to do. Cut the carbs. Cut the calories. And do hours of cardio 💦. Fast-forward a few years, and I landed myself aspiring to STRONG girls. A strong girls gotta eat. ENTER the beginning of four years of STRICT macronutrient counting. My macros were predominantly filled with processed foods and “sugar free” options 🤦🏼‍♀️. I was then introduced to the term, “balance”, which quickly turned into, “binge”, after being so restricted for so long. I blew out a little, eating anything and everything in-sight, feeling a sense of freedom 🍩. Next, I stumbled upon the “Paleo diet”, and decided to refine it further with “Paleo-organic”. This brought about a BIG restriction phase, leading me to drastically loose just over 10 kilos in 6 weeks 😳.

Now, fast-forward to TODAY, I have found a balance of all of these EXTREMES and FADS to create a simple, whole-food, diet-free LIFESTYLE 👏🏽. No scales. No tracking. No restrictions. Just simply eating a broad range of micronutrient dense whole-foods that I ENJOY — while being mindful of my macronutrient intake (protein, fat, carbs) to help me perform and feel my best 💪🏽.

So, I don’t have enough space in this caption to write my full shopping list. But in short I aim for organic/ free-range poultry, fresh/ wild-caught fish and occasionally organic grass-fed beef (not the biggest fan of red meat), and LOADS of free-range/ organic eggs 🍳! I’m constantly snacking on fruit and nut mix, nut butter on rice cakes and am avocados number one fan 🥑. My plate is always over-flowing with vegetables, with the occasional side of brown rice or quinoa. You’ll generally find me with a piece of fruit in my hand, spooning coconut yoghurt into my mouth or jamming out with some party oats 🎶.

✨ #tb #tbt to these healthy clean 'Ferrero Rocher' energy balls I created few weeks ago. They are so far the best energy bites I ever had! These gems are refined sugar-free, vegan & full of good for you ingredients but still taste like little bites of nutella without all the nasty stuff.😋 Make them 💁 1 cup roasted hazelnuts, 1/4 cup cashew nuts, 1 + 1/3 cup medjool dates (pitted), 3 tbsps coconut oil, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 3 heaping tbsps cacao powder, 1/4 cup smooth cashew butter @meridianfoods (you can also use almond or hazelnut butter) 👉 In a blender blitz the nuts until very finely chopped & remove and set aside. Place all the remaining ingredients except the nut butter and blend until a sticky dough forms. Throw in cashew butter & chopped nuts & process again all together until everything is combined. Roll into ball shapes with your hands. (Makes 15-20 depending on the size of the balls). Freeze 10-15 minutes before eating them.
