Who believes summer bodies are made in the winter?
Most people fall in to a dark hole of thinking that “fitness” or a “healthy lifestyle” means you have to follow a strict diet or muscle building program. Some even go as far as only believing working out is for that summer bod you’ve been dreaming of. Sure, the fitness industry has those aspects of it and plenty to offer if you pursue it as your hobby, but the majority of people strive for working out daily and eating a well balanced diet. We all love to eat out once in awhile without the guilt of gaining unwanted weight. Since being back from Okinawa, Japan I have not been tracking my macros and my focus in the gym has been elsewhere. But I’m not upset because every day I have a choice to get back on the grind and continue doing what I love. Motivating all of you each day is what I love and if I can impact one persons life, whether that be mentally or physically, I’m all for it. So on that note Happy Hump Day. Don’t be afraid to start tomorrow or even in the middle of the summer. We all start somewhere. End of rant ———————————————————————————
Stay Fit, Stay Focused, and Embrace The Grind
A couple of clips from yesterday's shoulder session at @bodyactivegym_harlow. I just want to be the best version of me. Our training should be a constant evolution, with each little step getting us towards that end goals, no matter how big or small it is
I realized today is 6 months of making “fitness” a priority. A lot has happened in the 6 months... some expected and some not. Physically I have gained close to 20 pounds of mostly muscle but more importantly I feel 1 million times better. I am more confident, secure, mentally strong, spiritually alive and not living in chronic pain as I was previously. The human body is an amazing tool with limitless potential and adaptability. I say all that to encourage everyone to put in daily efforts to “push yourself.” It is not a vanity thing to want more from yourself; it shows the level of respect for the 1 body you have been given. We all start at various points but one thing you can control is choosing to get 1% better everyday. #pushyourself#dontcompare#beabetteryou#starttoday#embracethegrind#setgoalsandcrushthem
After 7 months removed from lifting and for the most part from competetive martial arts(due to a rib injury), I lifted my first set of weights today. Although a far cry from where I once was, I am proud of what I have maintaned through scraping by with the little my damaged body would allow and often more. It has been a trying year working towards my PhD, helping to raise a child and recently dealing with being separated from my fiance. This year has been difficult but through it all I have found the love of many dear friends and family who have stuck by me, supported me and continue to believe in me even when I don't. If there is anything life and my training as a wrestler and martial artist has taught me it is that there is no more important time to push forward then when you feel like breaking. To all of those who do and have supported me, know that I love you dearly and for those of you who are struggling keep pushing forward and embrace the grind. #fitness#embracethegrind

This is how summer is done. The pineapple coconut is selling out quick so make sure you get yours. I have a couple I am willing to allow to get away from us, but you need to get yours ASAP. The basics always count. #embracethegrind#whowantssome#howwedosummer2018#specialtimes https://www.advocare.com/0309102/store/product/a5921-spark-pineapple-coconut
Kettlebell training is one of the best buck for your buck ways to exercise.
All the foundational movements that help you build strength and improve your quality of life can be done with a kettlebell. Plus the learning curve is super small, so they’re perfect tools for beginners.
With so many factors that are sometimes out of our control, our work ethic is one that we can control.
Effort is a choice.
Put your head down and grind.
Awesome shoot with @thetonykell (@chosenphotographyphotos)! He's working with me on some projects, so more to come!
